The Grim Adventures of Caden Li

Caden JUST turned two. She doesn't watch TV at home - she prefers doing whatever I am doing or playing directly with me. However, we do have a TV in the car. We watch it because if we don't the kids will drive me nuts as I am their only source of entertainment or they will drive each other nuts - "he's touching me" - that sort of thing... I am on the road a lot - 30 min. to drive the boys to school, 30 minutes home - another 30+30 when I pick them up - plus driving to and from preschool and errands - at least 2.5 hours a day in the car. So Caden watches TV. We taped shows from Cartoon Network that the boys like - Spongebob; Ed, Edd, and Eddie; The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy... These are now Caden's favorite shows and she chooses WHICH show the minute I put her in her seat. I don't know if you have seen The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy - so this may not be that amusing if you don't know the show... But... Tonight we are getting ready for bed and Joe mentions Billy and all of a sudden Caden bursts out with "BillyandMandy (note this is all one word) GWIM.... Ha ha ha ha" - the funny part is that she did Grim's laugh exactly - Joe comments that our 2 year old can imitate "death" (Grim Reaper and all). It was just cute beyond words! So we go downstairs and we put GWIM on for the "5 minutes of TV before bed" ritual and she immediately begins to repeat her imitation of GWIM - Ha ha ha ha... and then says, "Erwin" - I knew once she said it that the character on the show was named Erwin but if you had asked me without hearing it, I doubt I could have remembered his name - she is TWO - how does she know ALL the characters on these TV shows??!! Spongebob was one of her FIRST words! She can spot a spongebob shirt or stuffed toy a mile away - seriously - she started saying spongebob in the airport a few months back (when she wasn't talking in more than single words) and I looked around and sure enough, way far away was someone carrying a spongebob stuffed toy! The girl is amazing. She remembers every detail about every place we ever go! In a store once to get something and the next time you go in - she will tell you exactly what you bought the last time you went in!
